The time rules defined in this section can be used for calculating working hours for exceptional events, which require double-time registration in the time reports, e.g: compensation for inconvenient working hours such as working on a public holiday, working night shift etc..

When an employee has a presence or absence event on a time report, which meets the criteria specified, the overlapping event will be added to the employees' time report.

Time rules will be added by using the "New time rule" button:

In order to create a time rule, overlapping events need to be created first, so that they can be used in the time rule.

The overlapping event details are all mandatory fields: name, salary code, type (presence or absence) and unit.

The existing overlapping events can be seen on the left side. They can be edited, but cannot be deleted unless they weren't used already in an exported time report.

These are the fields to be filled when creating a time rule:

- Name: the name of the time rule

- Priority: the rule with a higher number will be prioritized first when having 2 or more entries for the same time and date

- Registered type: presence or absence

- Registered time type: - depending on the type, time type will be selected from the drop-down list

                                     - presence time types will appear in the list only if they have set time spans as input format

                                     - absence time type will appear in the list only if they have time spans as input format and if                                                         percentage reporting is not allowed

                                     - if left empty, any presence or absence reported on that time and date will also have the overlapping                                         event

- From and to time: the time interval

- Date: certain date of the event

- Selected time type: the desired overlapping event will be selected from the drop-down list
