This guide describes the steps required to upload and manage a new contract to Agreement.

To create a new contract, start by pressing the New Contract button in the top right corner of the contract list view.

The contract view for your new contract will be displayed.

Begin by uploading your contract. Press on 'Browse files', then either use the browsing functionality to select the contract from your computer, or simply drag and drop the contract. Though all types of files are supported, only PDF files can be signed using the E-signing functionality.

Before you can save, you have to choose a name for your contract, and assign who is responsible for the contract. This can be done on the left-hand side of the contract view.

Additional data can also be added to your new contract.

By selecting a category, your contract will be placed into the selected category, helping you keep your contracts organized. Examples of categories could be Employee Contracts, Customer Contracts or Vendor Contracts.

By selecting a Tag your contract will be marked with a colored tag to help organize them further. For example, one contract in the Employee Contracts category can be tagged with Intern, whilst another may be tagged with Consultant.

By setting the contract's Expiration Date, the system will remind you by email that the expiration date of your contract is coming up.

We strongly recommend setting a Notification Date, as this will allow the system to send you an email reminder on the given date. This can be used to set a reminder for contract expiration, renewal, or a key deliverable defined in the contract.

Additional information can also be added as meta-data to the contract:

  • Value - Defines the value of your contract, giving you an easy overview of all your contract's values. Later on, you can edit the Spent Value of the contract, to keep track of contract payments.

  • Notice Period - Defines the agreed-upon notice period for cancellation of the contract.

  • Comments - An internal place for notes and clarifications that can be used for your contracts.
