Under Reporting are defined time types,  transaction types, balance types, and Live balances.


In order to add a new time/ transaction/ balance types, Live Balance the "New" button needs to be clicked on.


Both time and transaction types can be added to staff categories. The employees having a certain staff category will be able to report those types included in that staff category.


If no transactions are added on a staff category, then the employees won't be able to report transactions. However, their managers will be able to register transactions for them if certain transactions will be enabled for the attest groups as mentioned below.


1. Time types:



When adding a new time type, the following fields will be added or selected:


- name: name of the time type 

- salary code: the same as in the payroll system

- type: presence, absence or other

- unit: - hours or days 

          - presence types can only be reported as hours

          - when the presence or absence type is set as hours, then the option to summarize on export is available

- input format: how the time type will be reported; as number of hours or time spans

- time reporting comment: there are 3 options to choose from the drop-down list: 

          - allow comment: employees can add a comment, but it's optional

          - disallow comment: no comments can be added when reporting a certain time type

          - force comment: employees must enter a comment which might have a certain format as mentioned in the "comment              description" field

- assign reported time to a project/cost center: these can be set as to allow, disallow or force

- percentage reporting: this option can be selected on absence time types and can be added specified percentage options or can be allowed all inputs 



2. Transaction types:



When adding a new transaction type, the following fields will be added or selected:


- name: name of the transaction type

- salary code: the same as in the payroll system

- unit: message, amount or quantity to be selected from the list

- enable for attest groups: attest groups to be selected from the list

          - if no attest group is selected, then managers won't be able to register transactions for the employees

- displayed as default for attest group: the selected attest groups will have the transaction type visible as default

- transaction comment: there are 3 options to choose from the drop-down list: 

          - allow comment: employees/managers can add a comment, but it's optional

          - disallow comment: no comments can be added when reporting or registering a certain transaction type

          - force comment: employees/managers must enter a comment which might have a certain format as mentioned in the              "comment description" field

- allow assigning reported time to a project/cost center



All the time types and transaction types will be displayed in the corresponding section. They can be sorted by salary code, name, type and input.


Reporting types and transaction types can be edited, but cannot be deleted if they were already used in an exported time report.
